Hi everyone and welcome back to what is going to be a fun filled term.
The Scouts have a patrol activity camp this weekend 14-16 May at Bottlebend, Held by Rohan Lauder's Patrol. Hope you all have fun and learn some new skills. Would also like to Welcome Josef & Tyler to scouts who have come from cubs hope they enjoy it as much as they did cubs. So far this term the scouts have been learing about how to erect and pack away a tent, Fire & Fuel, Navigation (held by Salty), some campcraft & how to set up for a camp. Wow they have been busy. Coming up they will be learning about mess kits & citizenship, plan & cook a meal from another culture, going to visit the RAAF museum and learning how to pack a rucksack.
The Anzac day march was held on the 25th April and Irymple had a great turn out and they all had fun, thanks to all those who attened and all well behaved.
Wednesday the 19th May is the Distric Roller Skating night (no scouts thursday night) where all the other scout groups in our distric get together and have fun and even some of the leaders get out on the rink and have a bit of a skate(which will bring back alot of memories) LOL.
The Distric Bike Hike is to be held on 18-20 june location and details yet to be advised but put that weekend on your calendar.
The cubs have also been very busy, Rick has invested 4 new cubs so hopefuly they will enjoy their time at Irymple. More details to be posted on what their weekly plan is for the term.
Reminder that raffle books are due back this week so all money raised stays in the group.
Also a big reminder that wehave a BBQ at Retravision on May 22nd which you should of all recieved a note with times that you could be available to help out which they are due back this week so we can do the roster.
Also our yearly AGM is to be held on July 21st hope you can all attend and have a say with any issues that need to be brought up. Also if you would like to join the committee.

Holidays
Hi Everyone
Only 1 week left until school holidays, how it's gone quick. Hope everyone has learnt something new this term. We welcome any new cubs/scouts you will enjoy your stay at Irymple. I would like to wish everyone a Safe and Happy Easter, (don't eat to much chocolate). I would like to wish Brianna & Aaron good luck on their effoerts for the Relay for Life this weekend at Ornamental lakes, anyone is quite welcome to join us from 3pm saturday we are site # 21 it is a $15each entry fee but it is for a good cause. If you would like to contribute to this blog or have any news dont forget to email me mattlina@bigpond.com or if you have any photos of any camps or activities.

GangShow 2010
Hi Everyone.
Once again Gangshow is up and running for another year. Gangshow is for all youths registered in either joeys,cubs,scouts,venturers,rovers,leaders and guides. This is my 4th year in Gangshow, but 1st in the senior cast. Auditions were in february. Rehersal are now underway as everybody have been put into patrols. My patrol name is Kermit. Rehersal are held on a tuesday night and some weekends at the Nichols Point Hall. The differnce between junior and senior cast is, junior cast do 2 performances and is for 7-10yrs and senior cast do about 9 performances each and is for 10yrs+. The things i enjoy about Gangshow are, catching up with other troop friends, new friends, dancing, singing and building my confiedence. So far we have learnt 2 acts and the songs that go with that act, it is realy enjoyable learning dances to my favourite songs.

Relay For Life
Brianna Egberts & Aaron Bianchin have organised a group called The Irymple Devils to participate in this years Relay For Life, we have about 10 people so far, so we wish to thank those who will volunteer their time and if you would like to join/donate to our group please email brianna at mattlina@bigpond.com Relay For Life is held on 27-28th March at Ornamental lakes. Congratulations to Brianna & Aaron.
Wow what a weekend had by all. We raised a total of $617. What a perfect weekend for it, we had a great camp site. Thank you to all those who helped out and walked a couple of laps, we did a total of 130 laps, lots of ideas for next year. So once again congratulations to the Irymple Devils

Bunnings BBQ
Hi everyone.
1st Irymple scout group have a BBQ at Bunnings on sunday 14th March, so please come and buy a snag. Thank you to all the volunteers who are helping on the day. Would also like to thank Langtree Butchery for supplying the snags. Also would like to say thanks to buttercup for donating the bread. Hope it will be a successful day.
Well Our BBQ is over for this month. It was a great day. Once again thank you to all those who helped on the day, and those youth members who were in uniform promoting scouts. It was a beautiful sunny day for a BBQ & a drink. We made a total of $796.20, so once again well done 1st Irymple.
